The greenest data center of them all

by Administrator on June 6, 2007

Sol Squire, Managing Director of Data Islandia, sent me a couple of updates on his progress in building a green data center to house corporate archival data in Iceland.  I have blogged about this idea and made a couple of visits to the tundra to see the work in progress. Data Islandia's Data Centers of the Gods

The latest news:

A Copenhagen-based architectural firm has come up with this concept for the Data Center of the Gods that Squire and company are building.  (Not at all to diminish the idea, the structures are kind of derivative of the home occupied by the Teletubbies – that TV show my youngest kids adore even if Tinky Winky has gender issues.)

A brief write-up about the novel architecture is here and a video interview with Sol about the concept is here.  Don’t worry if you don’t speak the lingo of the local TV journalist, Sol’s commentary is in English.

Go get ‘em, Squire!
