This just in from Crossroads Systems, who I guess has been liking all of the coverage I have been dedicating to their TapeNAS head: StrongBox. For the record, it looks a lot like a server…

Everybody seems to be reselling StrongBox from Crossroads, including IBM (well, actually, Big Blue resells StrongBox’s cousin, Read/Verify Appliance or RVA). For now, they are defining the TapeNAS head market in the way that DataDomain productized de-dupe appliances. The difference is that Crossroads actually delivers on what is in their brochure.
